Happy Birthday Dad

Hi Everyone

It's my dad's 60th birthday today and my parents are enjoying themselves on holiday in Bali.  I'm soooo envious.

Anyway in wishing him many happy returns,  I made this card for him...he loves old cars and I think he even owned one of these cars as shown in this picture.

The car and sentiment stamp used are from Kanban with a circles and textures added using nestibilities and the cuttlebug.  To add dimension and movement, I mounted the car onto a spring system, so when it moves it shakes - boing!!

Hope you like

Until next time

Going Abroad Card

Hey Everyone

This card was made for a friend whose parents were going abroad to live for 8 months, in Singapore can you believe.  How lucky are they!

The paper used was from Cosmo Cricket's range called Joyride and the sentiment from Hero Arts.  I've tried to keep the colours the same and added a bit of faux stitching and twine for added interest and to create the parcel effect.

The colours come up a bit truer in the image below...

Hope you like.  Until next time.

Hedgehugs

Hi again

Just a quick post of this cute birthday card.  As promised something totally different to my usual style.

And for a closer look...

Love Kraft card, its now set to be a staple in my crafting!  This is crumb cake from Stampin Up and the cute hedgehog stamp is from Hampton Arts, stamped and paper pieced onto the card with a bit of faux stitching.

Fly me to the moon

Hi All

Its been a while, but I have been busy beavering away on new cards.  Here is one of them which I made for an 18th birthday.

Here's a bit more detail...

Have used a Gorjuss girl with balloon stamp and Pro markers all of which give this card a vintage soft feel.  I've customised the card with rub on letters from Doodlebug

Think I have to move away from the cloud theme now - overdone it a bit now.  Promise will do a totally different card in my next post.

Until next time

Happy Birthday Sis

For my sis birthday on Friday, I did a slight variation on the balloon card and tweaked it a bit by turning it into a money gift card.  No shock then that the card and the money was happily received.

Here's a closer look at the fab cake my mum made for Amelia, yum yum!!

That's all for now, im off to have a slice of that tasty cake

A little birdie told me...

It's another year past already and Mother's Day has been and gone.  This is the mother's day card I sent, which my mum loved.

Have used Hero Arts stamps for the sentiments and My Minds Eye Quite Contrary papers for the card, adding brads and glazing the bird's belly and eye with a clear glaze.  It's a nice, bright cheery card and the colours really zing in this and the stitching detail adds to the whole vintage effect.

Thanks for looking

Up up and away...

Really happy that I'm slowly working out how to blog, i've even sussed out how to add a watermark to an image.  So in honour of this achievement and my first proper post, see the card below I made last week.

Loved this cloud paper from WRMK and had to use this in a 40th birthday card created for Kieron's boss. The balloon stamp was a freebie from Craft Stamper magazine and the card stock used is from Stampin Up.

It's not normally in keeping with my usual style and I always struggle to make masculine cards, but I think the final result was ok.  In any case the receipent really liked it, so i'm well pleased.

bye for now
